Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. 100% original save for a professional refret with vintage-spec slender fretwire and a bone nut, this extremely soulful Jazzmaster is a quintessential Pre-CBS example.
The original black bobbin pickup pair retains its stock windings, and both pickups have ample output. The bridge pickup has a great upper midrange aggression, sparkle, and cut. Engaging the pickups in parallel in the middle position has a bell-like, chorusing quality with excellent articulation, and the neck pickup has a bold woody bark, notably gutsy with a pronounced vowel-like quality. The Rhythm Circuit is dark and smooth, all while retaining terrific detail.
