Up for sale, a 1998 Gibson Explorer ‘76 vintage reissue in excellent condition and in perfect working order, modified with the iconic “Clapton Cut” and complete with a hardshell case. This Explorer has been augmented with the same body modification famously made by Eric Clapton to his own ‘58 Explorer, carefully executed with well-blended finish work across the “cut,” matching the original Wine Red nitro lacquer.
Weighing 7lbs 10oz, the reshaped mahogany body has great warmth and midrange fullness, providing an ideal sonic platform for the pickups.
