Handcrafted by Jake Serek in Chicago, IL, Serek basses are designed to evoke vintage nostalgia with the functionality of contemporary design. Clearly taking its aesthetic cues from Rickenbacker, this expertly crafted short-scale bass features a 30 ½” scale length, TV Jones Thunder’Blade pickup, passive on-board “Skuzz Serkit,” and satin Capri Orange with Aztec Gold Stripes nitro lacquer finish.
Featherweight at 6lbs 13oz, tonewoods include an alder body and quartersawn roasted maple neck capped by a thick slab Indian rosewood fingerboard. The TV Jones Thunder’Blade humbucker utilizes steel blades to create a larger magnetized surface area, producing more inductance for a full, warm tone with potent low end heft, round top end, and crisp articulation. The on-board passive fuzz circuit adds grunt and roar, extremely usable with Tone Off, Tone Open, and “Skuzz” options accessible via the “Skuzz Serkit” mini toggle.
